Introducing: North Peninsula Vineyard Church

"A community of Jesus; learning to be the people God intended us to be, so we can live the lives God intended us to live."

One might characterize the Vineyard movement as being distinctive in three areas: Worship, the Word, and Works. These values emphasize our corporate and individual relationships with God.

Worship:

Vineyard communities have always attempted to make worship culturally appropriate and contemporary for a local setting. From the earliest days in the Vineyard movement, these communities have emphasized an attitude in worship that expresses personal experience and relationship with Jesus. Vineyard worship leaders reach for this attitude in part by singing songs to God rather than about God. In more general terms, our worship experience rests in the attitude of surrendering to God all of our external attachments to the creation, and seeking complete devotion to Him. It is only from this place that we might enter back into healthy relationships with any part of His creation.

Word:

Vineyard leadership has consistently embraced theology that is both conservative and orthodox. We hold to the principle that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching….” Our focus is on the person and character of Jesus in the context of the Kingdom of God . It is from our understanding of the future and present nature of the Kingdom of God that we explain the nature of worship and the dynamics of the gifts in the context of our corporate and individual relationships with God.

Works:

We believe that Jesus calls us to do what He did and is doing on Earth for the sake of His body and for the salvation of all people. God empowers His people to accomplish His will and enter into the work of His kingdom through the gifts of the Spirit. These gifts are directed either inward (for the edification and building up of the Body of Christ ), or outward (for the sake of drawing others into the Kingdom of God).
